Petoskey is a must during your Up North Vacation

Petoskey is a 15-minute drive from Harbor Springs and well worth it! To call Petoskey beautiful is an understatement. Petoskey is nothing short of magnificent! Its stores, its views, its homes all work together to create a wonderful experience for visitors.

Here's a small sampling of what you may want to do in Petoskey:

  • Shopping, of course!
  • Walks along the lakefront and onto the breakwater.
  • A stroll through historic Bay View to admire the hundreds of Victorian cottages.
  • Plan to have brunch at Stafford’s Bay View Inn. (Reservations are a good idea in the summer.)
  • Visit the pristine Petoskey State Park, home of one of the most magnificent public beaches in the area.
  • Tour the Little Traverse Historical Society (at the waterfront) and learn about the amazing history of this area. And while you’re there, be sure to soak in everything about Ernest Hemingway. We claim him as one of ours! And when you’re done, head on up the hill to City Park Grille for lunch and to see the statue of him.
  • Petoskey Stone hunting. Here are some ideas of where to find these special stones.
  • Bike riding. You can rent at The Bahnhof.
  • Kayaking. You can rent at The Bahnhof.
